In my quest for deeper meaning and real-world impact, I embarked on a journey that led me to become a DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Strategist at Sunlight Academy. The acronym “DEIB” represents much more to me than mere words; it signifies a profound commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Diversity has been an inherent part of my existence since birth. Growing up in a fusion of cultures, I learned from a young age the importance of celebrating differences and cherishing the diverse perspectives that each one brings. This unique background provided me with a fundamental understanding of the wealth that arises from the intersection of different worlds – a concept that now guides my dedication as a DEIB Strategist in the context of coaching.
My personal experience has enriched my professional approach to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. I’ve learned that diversity is not just about representation, but also about valuing the unique experiences that each of us carries. Equity is the pillar on which true inclusion is built, ensuring that everyone has access to the same opportunities and resources to thrive and grow. Belonging, ultimately, goes beyond mere participation; it’s the feeling of being part of something larger, a community that welcomes and supports.
At Sunlight Academy, I found fertile ground to cultivate this vision. Their dedication to integrity and innovation has created an environment where DEIB is not just a façade, but an intrinsic value that permeates every aspect of the organization. That’s why I decided to join this team, where I found not only colleagues but true allies in the mission to create a more equitable and inclusive world.
In my role as a DEIB Strategist, I have the honor of leading this mission with passion and dedication, working side by side with my colleagues, particularly with Chiara Lo Coco (ACC), to create programs and initiatives that promote inclusion and equity, and foster a sense of belonging that goes beyond surface-level barriers.
My journey towards DEIB has been one of personal and professional growth, marked by challenges and successes. But it has also been a journey of hope and inspiration, as I’ve witnessed the transformative potential that lies in embracing uniqueness and promoting inclusion.
